The ‘Women’s Wisdom Dinner” will be held later this month with the theme of drawing wisdom from women of the Isa while helping less fortunate women in South Asia.

Daisy said her intention for the evening is to strengthen friendships, to help women discover their personal path to freedom and to honour each other’s gifts and qualities.

“There are so many inspiring women in the Mount Isa community, women whom have been in business for 6-20 years who also cope with family pressures, health concerns, market slumps and despite it all gently keep going, day by day,” Ms Cross said.

“And mothers with the responsibility of raising healthy, well-balanced children and sometimes even raising them alone or with little support.”

The Women’s Wisdom Dinner is a gathering where women can safely share their truths, speak of their unique journey and shine their light in a dynamic sisterhood environment.

“Our stories have shaped us into the women we are today, and we have the potential to inspire, heal and create radical shifts to the lives of other women around us,” Daisy said.

The idea came as an extension of the Women’s Wisdom Circles which Daisy has been facilitating in Mount Isa for more than four years. She also provides advocacy, inspiration and guidance to young women in local senior colleges.

“I felt the call to expand the Sisterhood into the wider community, especially with mentoring year 11 and 12 women because it is important for them to be surrounded by healthy mentors in this day and age.”

All profits raised on the evening will go towards preparing sanitary gift packs for women in India.
